Overview
GIF Maker (“the App”) is developed and operated by GIF Maker. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how the App works. This Privacy Policy describes what data the App collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that data.
Data That Stays on Your Device
All video and GIF content is processed entirely on your device. Your videos are never uploaded to any external server. The GIFs you create are stored locally in the App's library or saved to your Photos library (with your permission). We do not have access to, nor do we collect, your video or GIF content.
Data We Collect
Firebase Authentication (Anonymous)
The App uses Firebase Authentication to generate an anonymous user identifier. This identifier is used solely for subscription management through RevenueCat. No personal information (name, email, phone number) is collected through this process. You do not need to create an account to use the App.
RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat receives the anonymous user identifier from Firebase and subscription status information from Apple. RevenueCat does not receive any personally identifiable information from the App. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Google AdMob (Advertising)
For free users, the App displays banner advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the Advertising Identifier / IDFA), IP address, and usage data for the purpose of serving relevant ads. Pro subscribers do not see any ads. Local Storage
The App stores certain preferences and state information locally on your device using Keychain and UserDefaults. This includes your premium subscription status and daily export counter. This data is not transmitted to any external server.
Photos Access
The App requests access to your Photos library to allow you to select videos for conversion and to save created GIFs. This access is granted through Apple's standard permission system and can be managed in your device's Settings at any time. The App only accesses the specific videos you select and does not scan or index your photo library.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase Authentication — anonymous user identification
- RevenueCat — subscription management and validation
- Google AdMob — advertising for free users
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how it processes data.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Data Tracking (App Tracking Transparency)
The App may request permission to track your activity across other apps and websites for the purpose of serving personalized ads through Google AdMob. You can deny this request, and the App will function normally — you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized. Pro subscribers are not subject to any ad tracking.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
